More than 27,000 runners, all representing charities and good causes, gathered on a lovely sunny morning for the annual Asics British London 10K Challenge. This year saw twelve brave, and somewhat foolhardy, athletes from Smith Price participating in the event following months of intensive training. All of the hard work, sweat and tears paid dividend as every one of the dirty dozen, spearheaded by partners Mike Petty, Stephen Powell, John Mortimer and Mark Cherry, made it home in good time and finished with a medal. http://www.justgiving.com/sprainbowtrustThe event once again attracted thousands of spectators and supporters to the streets of the capital, making for a great atmosphere for those running. The race itself was somewhat of a family affair with Cyrus Ndereba finishing first, in a time of 30.19, and his sister Catherine Ndereba claiming the honours in the women’s event with a time of 33.54. The real achievement by the firm, however, was raising in excess of £2,000 for the Rainbow Trust, an organisation helping families with terminally-ill children, and Cancer Research. The Rainbow Trust showed their appreciation to all fundraisers, including Smith Price, by hosting a post-run reception at the Royal Horseguards Hotel. This included complimentary refreshments and massages which were extremely well-received!
