Tim Preston and James Cartmell successfully completed the inaugural Vertical Rush by scaling all forty-two floors of Tower 42 in the City of London. Tim (far left) scored a particularly impressive individual finishing time of 6 minutes 21 seconds with James (far right) coming in at 8 minutes 1 second.
To put their achievement into perspective, the building stands at some 600 feet (or 183 metres) with some 920 steps to the summit. The winning time was 4 minutes 20 seconds.
The duo also formed part of a triumphant Monsoon Accessorize team (pictured) that claimed first place in the Retail Division, with an aggregate time of 35 minutes and 29 seconds, and fifth place overall out of the 70 teams that entered.
However the main achievement by the team was to raise in excess of £1,200 in donations for Shelter, an organisation raising awareness and money for homeless people, who had spearheaded the event. |
