On a wet and blustery Sunday morning in July, 160 of the property industry’s finest and most bravest took to the streets of the capital as part of the British 10K London Challenge. The field of 25,000 runners, that included Smith Price fitness ‘fanatics’ Tim Preston and James Cartmell, meandered their way around London from the start at Hyde Park Corner to the finish line at Pall Mall, taking in the sites of Tower Bridge, Westminster and Trafalgar Square along the way. The property fraternity had been coaxed into running on behalf of Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, with Property Week seeking to raise in excess of £35,000 for the charity. The runners accordingly were treated to a post-run reception at Sports Café featuring a buffet brunch, drink and massages! Martyn Perkins from Evolve Engineering claimed the honour of winning the 2008 Property Week 10K, coming 66th overall with a time of 38 minutes, while the fastest female, Lisa Wujec, clocked 49 minutes. Tim achieved a most admirable time of 43 minutes while James’ effort was none too shabby at 1 hour and 5 minutes. |
