Smith Price advised REIT Asset Management on four acquisitions, during the latter half of 2007, for a combined total of circa £17 million. The properties were situated on Park Street in Walsall, Western Road in Brighton, Griffin Island in Newport (Gwent) and Paisley in Scotland. Tenants include WH Smith, Miss Selfridge, the Works and Game amongst others. The properties were all purchased in separate transactions, from different vendors, and should provide REIT, a private asset management firm, with active management opportunties. Indeed the combined accommodation amounts to some 75,000 sq ft. Griffin Island, in particular, is a mixed block comprising of 26 buildings and some 34,000 sq ft of internal accommodation. It is situated on the junction between High Street and Commercial Street, at the heart of Newport, and therefore in close proximity to a number of planned developments for the city centre. |
