The Carter Family have successfully disposed of Eastwick Lodge, a large holding of farm and commercial land to the north of Harlow. Smith Price acted on behalf of the vendor, alongside joint-agent Bidwells, during the course of the negotiations and sale. The potential development site has been purchased by joint-venture group, Making Places, for £29 million.
The site, which comprises 37.5 acres, was previously used as a working farm and home to several flourishing businesses owned by the Carter family. It was recently granted planning permission for a Family Play Barn, a new Garden Centre, a Golf Driving Range, a Coffee Shop & Restaurant and a Farm Shop Delicatessen.
The land also fronts onto the proposed Harlow North residential scheme, devised by Ropemaker, and offers a variety of potential uses following development. The purchasers will have an option to buy a further 459 acres of the surrounding land, for a reduced price, should Ropemaker seek to create a development channel directly through the Eastwick site. |
